This course is designed to introduce you to the Concepts of Styling which will enable you not only to style yourself but also gives you the knowledge to style other people. Starting with the Theory of Colour you will learn how to choose, combine and style colours for different colour patterns. You will be shown how to identify figure types and how to select fabrics, styles and accessories that flatter each type. You will look at current and future trends and how to style them for different figure types. You will learn the language of clothes and learn who wears what and why. You will create a Styleboard for a model that demonstrates your understanding of the topics covered. The course concludes with practical advice on how to set up as a Personal Stylist and gives you tips and tricks about how to manage clients and the Services you can offer.
Following on from Introduction to Personal Fashion Styling this course is designed to increase your skills as a Stylist. You will begin by looking at Style Personality and how to use Fabric, Design and Accessories to create different looks. You will look at current and future trends and how to match these to the personality and lifestyle of your client. You will look at a variety of specialised areas; how to choose swimwear, jewellery, shoes, sunglasses and hats. You will learn the key principles of Capsule Wardrobes and how to create them to suit your client’s lifestyle and budget. You will learn about Designers and Styles of the decades and be introduced to the world of Sustainable and Refashioning. You will look at how to restyle Retro and Vintage clothing for current wear. As the course progresses you will build a Lookbook for a model that demonstrates your understanding of all the topics taught. The course concludes with practical advice and tips on styling for weddings and how to avoid Bridezilla.
This course is designed to introduce you to the Language of Men, the Style Tribes and how to Decode the Dress Code. You will learn about Fabric, Fit and Finish, how to identify different figure types of men and how to dress them successfully. The course covers both Formal and Casual wear. You will discover the fine details that can make the world of difference to the look of your client. You will look at current Menswear Trends and learn how to select clothes to create a hybrid wardrobe to suit their lifestyle. You will learn about Suits from the Superfines to everyday wear. You will look at Shirt and Tie combinations and learn how to combine these to make powerful and approachable looks. You will learn about Formal wear from White Tie to Morning Suits and Shoes from Legates to Loafers. You will be taught the vocabulary of menswear and learn who wears what and why. You will create a Styleboard for a model that demonstrates your understanding of the topics covered. The course will finish with practical advice on how to set up as a Stylist, how to work with men and the services you can offer.
